The book deals with the subject of the reasons for revelation in terms of investigating what is related to this art of the arts of the sciences of the Qur’an. It deals with the reasons for revelation from the historical and classification perspective, and reviews in detail the two most important books on it, and discusses the scientific rules specific to the reasons for revelation, such as the conflict between the narrations, and the preference between them, and the multiplicity of revelation, and the formulas of the reasons for revelation. The book served the reasons for revelation by graduating and verifying all the narrations of the reasons for revelation included in the books of Al-Wahidi and Al-Suyuti, may God have mercy on them.

About the author:


Dr. Essam bin Abdul Mohsen Al-Humaidan, Associate Professor in the Department of Islamic and Arabic Studies at King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, graduated from Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University from the College of Fundamentals of Religion, specializing in the Qur’an and its Sciences. He obtained his master’s degree for his thesis on the reasons for revelation and their impact on interpretation, and obtained his doctorate. The title of his thesis was Verses of Rulings in Surat Al-Ma’idah through the Book Al-Mughni by Ibn Qudamah: A Comparative Study. He heads the branch of the Saudi Scientific Society for the Qur’an and its Sciences in Dammam, and has a number of published peer-reviewed research papers.
